2021 Junior Pennant
Congratulations Wantima 1 - 2021 Junior Pennant Champions!!!
Seven teams from five Clubs in the Zone contested the 2021 GMGZ Pennant. The Zone wishes to thank all the Clubs for making their courses available for the juniors and providing the sausage sizzle or similar for all the players.
Going into the final round at Wantima Golf Club on 4 July the 2021 winner was still to be decided. Fittingly the 2 top teams Wantima 1 and Pelican Waters 2 were scheduled to play each other on the last day, with only 1.5 points separating them. Beerwah, who had the final round Bye had played strongly during the season to be only half a point behind Pelican Waters 2 and a guaranteed 2 points for the Bye round.
On the day the Wantima 1 team took full advantage of being on their home course and defeated Pelican Waters 2 by 4 points to 1, taking out the 2021 Pennant in a very strong showing. Beerwah finished in 2nd place, a mere half a point ahead of both teams from Pelican Waters.
Well done to all players during the season with matches played in great spirit and generous sportsmanship, especially those players who helped out the other teams from time to time.
